Overcoming Carbs…
Carbs are NOT the enemy!
The reason I started this project to begin with is to get over an issue I was inflicting on myself, that was overall harming my body. This is the reason I focus so heavily on certain aspects like carbs. A lot of people think that carbs are the enemy when it comes to a regular diet. Now, I never want to diminish anyones personal goals if they want to lose weight, but I chose to do it in an unhealthy way.
For those of you who I know can relate this is my way of choosing to spread awareness. Awareness for the ones who didn’t eat the bread basket when it came to the table. Awareness for those who ordered a salad over a sandwich. Awareness for the ones who feel as if they don’t know where to start their journey to recovery.
Eat that bagel babe, you’ll feel a lot better if you do.
One of the first things I had to do years ago when overcoming my disordered eating journey was eat carbs. Carbs were something I almost completely avoided. This was something that I just automatically thought would make me gain 10 pounds (which it doesn’t). Would make me not look how I envision (it doesn’t even matter). So the first step I took to overcome this was full sending it and going to a bagel shop.
My boyfriend and I went to our local bagel shop and I got a “sandwich” bagel. The picture on the left is the picture my boyfriend captured during my first bite and the grin speaks volumes. I look back on this and feel for this girl so bad, but now know how hard she fought to be where she is now.
