Tennessee

Going through my phone always brings up some sort of nostalgic moment. I think this is pretty much all of us, but for me when I see photos I tend to relive the entire experience. Personally I have been to Tennessee a handful of times, but I know as I get older I look at things differently, we obviously experience things differently and I appreciate it more. In my adult life I have a goal to go to every state at least one time. Now that I am old enough to go do my own thing in terms of traveling, I want to really experience these moments. I went to Tennessee at the end of last year with my boyfriend and we had the best time. As always this includes the food we ate.

For me, this trip was something I was looking forward to for months. I had planned this trip and looked at restaurants previously to going, I was all in. My boyfriend, god love him is extremely go with the flow, so he doesn’t care where we go or what we do. That being said, the first night we were there was actually our 6 year anniversary. So, I booked a reservation at this really nice restaurant in the moutains. It was beautiful.

Long story short, four hours later, we are throwing up from food poisoning. LOL…

This wasn't the best start to our trip, but it must go on and I was ready to continue exploring and trying new foods!

24 hour’s after getting food poisoning…

Despite the first night being there, we were on a mission to continue our so called “food tour”. As uncomfortable as it may seem sometimes, getting out of your comfort zone is the key. For me, this has helped me experience so many great things. One thing I had not done in a long time as simple as it may seem is eat pancakes, biscuits, waffles and or rolls at a restaurant. On this trip, I did exactly that.

We went to the Pancake Cabin and they had gluten free pancakes and homemade biscuits on the menu. Immediately yes, along with some sausage on the side.

Throughout this entire 5 day trip, after the pancake breakfast I was even more ecstatic to try these restaurants. Knowing I ate something I was so fearful would have a negative impact on me and realising nothing happened, it empowered me.

As silly as this may sound to some, I know there are so many of you out there who can relate. The truth of the matter is you, and I deserve to experience life in all of its glory.

Do not live in fear, get out of your comfort zone and go at anxiety full steam ahead.
